CLEVELAND - Cleveland police said a hit-skip crash killed a woman and left another fleeing the crash scene.
Police identified the victim as Neisha Coleman, 33, of Cleveland.
The crash happened at the intersection of Eddy Road and St. Clair Avenue at about 2:09 a.m. Friday morning.
Police said a preliminary investigation showed that a drunk driver of a Ford Exhibition was speeding down St. Clair Avenue and failed to stop at the red light, striking the the Buick Skylark heading south on Eddy Road with the green light.
The victim Coleman's car was wrapped around a traffic signal pole and the Cleveland Fire Department had to cut her out of the wreckage.
The driver of the SUV fled the scene on foot, leaving the wrecked vehicle in the middle of the street.
Coleman was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where she died of her injuries.
