A woman died after getting shot Saturday night on East 149th Street.
Cleveland police were called to East 149th Street after a report of a man and woman shot. Police said that a 36-year-old man reported that he and his 29-year-old girlfriend had returned home when shots were fired as he was unlocking the door. Both of them were struck and he had been taken to Euclid Hospital by a neighbor.
The woman had fled the scene and was found on East 148th Street. She was transported to University Hospitals and later died from her injuries.
The man was unable to identify the shooter and the incident remains under investigation. The Homicide Unit and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiners Office responded to the hospitals and the scene to investigate.
