Weather overnight caused the partial collapse of two buildings, the closure of East 9th Street and some power outages across Northeast Ohio.

On Kinsman Avenue around 1 a.m., the brick facade of Saint Teresa Holiness Science Church fell from the building into the street, causing a lane closure.

Another building on Maywood Avenue near West 91st Street suffered even more damage when the entire front wall and roof collapsed, landing in the street. Neighbors told News 5 the building had been vacant for years and most said they feared it would collapse one day.

Ropes and cables that are used to lift scaffolding for window washers broke free at the PNC Bank building downtown due to the gusty winds.

At least one window broke, sending glass into the middle of East 9th Street just north of Euclid Avenue.

Cleveland police and fire crews worked for hours to get control of the cables. East 9th Street was closed between Euclid Avenue and Superior Avenue while they worked.
