Right now, a Ghostbusters remake, featuring all women, is in theatres...But a group of local friends, say they were well ahead of the trend.

So, Newsnet 5's Lauren Wilson, suited up, and hit the road, looking for their Ghostbuster mobile.

"My friend called me and said I'm with the real Ghostbusters, and I was like what are you talking about?...so I came and they're real ghostbusters," said Natalie Schroder, as she walked up to the two cars in Edgewater Park sporting the movies iconic look.

Everywhere they go, people stop and stare.

Sam Vasquez and his friends, rolled up on the group at Lakewood park.

"It's definitely noticeable, we were just walking down from the lake, and we saw them from a far, so we just had to come over," he said.

"Oh yeah, right away I was like oh my gosh, that's the ghostbusters," said Beth Davis, who just had to stop before she went on her morning run.

From parks to parades, on any given day you could run into Stephen Manchir and his Cleveland Ghostbuster comrades suited up, Ghostbuster style.

"Occasionally we do get confused with other people like the google maps car. We're not the Google car, we're not storm chasers, we're not the EPA air quality control."

It all started back in 2012, when the dealership of his new Mini Cooper was having a Hallowen contest, he couldn't resist.

"Ghostbusters is always the obvious choice, it's not quite the Cadillac from the films, but it kind of has that same look to it, it's kind of retro...and we so just went and bought a bunch of parts and put something together for it," Manchir said.

After winning the contest, he posted his victory on social media, then the unexpected happened.

"We started getting calls on the hotline...and we just got involved with all of the parades, charity events...we did not kind of plan on this becoming a part time job for us, but it ended up taking off," he said.

And he and his 4 friends have been rolling around in it, ever since. But if you think the car is just fun and games...guess again, the Coop is Manchir's main ride, everyday.

"This is my daily drive, yes, you know I'll leave it on during the week," he said.

The group of friends plan to head to the Columbus Comic-Con this weekend, where they'll be an exhibitor, showing off all their gear.
