Victimized fan tours Superman house in Cleveland

CLEVELAND - A mentally disabled Superman fan whose collection was stolen in Illinois has been treated to a trip to Cleveland to the home where the Man of Steel got his start.

A Cleveland comic book shop flew in Mike Meyer and a friend, plus a representative from a fan club that rallied to replace comic books and other Superman memorabilia stolen from Meyer's home in Granite City, Ill.

The Plain Dealer reports the 48-year-old Meyer wore an early Superman costume Monday for his tour of the Cleveland boyhood home of Jerry Siegel, one of the comic superhero's co-creators. As Meyer sat in Siegel's old bedroom, he said he felt a connection to Siegel and his classmate and Superman collaborator, Joe Shuster.

The couple living in the home welcomed the visit.
