CLEVELAND - Two people from Cuyahoga County have been sentenced to prison for their roles in a violent convenient store robbery.
Twenty year olds Michael Keith, of Shaker Heights, and Shontez Brazzile, of Cleveland, were sentenced to 10 years in prison and seven years respectively.
On July 27, 2012, police said Brazzile and Keith robbed a convenient store clerk at gunpoint on West 25th Street in Cleveland.
Around closing time, the two walked inside the store, pointed a gun at the 38-year-old clerk and demanding money before shooting him in the head.
The duo then took off with stolen cash and cellphones.
Shortly after the robbery, an anonymous tip came into Cleveland police alerting them to the whereabouts of Keith and Brazzile.
Brazzile later pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery and more. Keith pleaded guilty to attempted murder and aggravated robbery.
The store clerk was treated and released from a local hospital.
