Cleveland police are investigating a shooting on Cleveland's east side that left an 18-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man dead overnight.

Officers were flagged down at the Valero gas station at East 93rd Street and Harvard Avenue for a report of shots fired around 2:50 a.m. Monday.

Police said the man was found on the ground in front of the gas station door and the woman was found on the street. Officers administered first aid until EMS arrived and transported the victims to MetroHealth Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.

According to police, it appears the man and woman were at the gas station when the man got into a verbal altercation with another man.

That man then fired at both of the victims.

The 24-year-old man collapsed in the parking lot. The woman ran from the scene but fell to the ground after a short distance.

The suspect is only described as a black male.

The shooting is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 216-623-5464.
