CLEVELAND - "This Old House" named its top 10 best old-house neighborhoods for 2013 and one historical Cleveland district made the list.
The sixth annual list features neighborhoods in Chicago, Atlanta and Houston, and factors best value and easiest commute. Cleveland's Ohio City made the list for its Victorian-era styles and walkability.
"This former shipbuilding center just west of downtown Cleveland had a growth spurt in the latter half of the 1800s, when workers and managers for the area's docks, distilleries, and mills settled there," according to "This Old House".
According to the magazine, a home in Ohio City in need of repairs will cost $30,000 or more, while refurbished homes start around $130,000.
Other neighbors in the top 10 were Asbury Park, New Jersey; St. Johns Neighborhood, Portland, Oregon; Petworth Neighborhood, Washington, D.C.; Southside Park, Sacramento, California; Old Fourth Ward, Atlanta; Bronzeville Neighborhood, Chicago; Marshall, Michigan; Glenbrook Valley Neighborhood, Houston and Danville, Virginia.
