Summertime fun means splashing around in local pools for many families. And now, the city of Cleveland is hoping to make the annual tradition safer.
Monday, City leaders announced free swimming lessons for area residents. The 2014 Water Safety Initiative is through the city's division of recreation and the Cleveland Metroparks and emphasizes the importance of learning how to swim and encourages all area families to sign up so they will have a safe and happy summer.
Registration is currently underway for the free swim lessons, which are at all Cleveland recreation locations.
One requirement - all participants must be at least four feet tall.
