If you're in or around downtown Cleveland over the next week, you'll spot plenty of strange structures and bizarre items.

Antennae and metal boxes, they all serve specific purposes -- meant to make sure the Republican National Convention goes smoothly and safely.

NewsChannel 5 reporter Homa Bash explains what they all do in the video above.

Bonus: Horses! Law enforcement agencies from all over the country have sent horses and officers to assist Cleveland Police's mounted patrol unit.

The farthest came from Fort Worth, Texas -- eight horses and officers made the 23-hour drive and arrived in Cleveland on Friday.

There will be a total of about 30 officers on horseback during the RNC.
