The iconic LeBron James mural displayed on the side of the Sherwin Williams building downtown is coming down.

The paint company told newsnet5.com this week that they are taking down the banner at 101 Prospect Avenue to make room for a new one in time for the Republican National Convention.

The new banner was created to celebrate the company's 150th year in Cleveland. It is red, white and blue and reads "This land is our land. 150 years in Cleveland."

A Sherwin Williams spokesperson sent this statement to newsnet5.com:

For 150 years Sherwin-Williams has been proud to call Cleveland home. "This land is our land. 150 years in Cleveland." clearly speaks to the pride that Sherwin-Williams has in our hometown. This is an exciting time to be in Cleveland.  Our new banner delivers a simple, welcoming message celebrating both Cleveland and our 150th anniversary.

The banner change was approved Thursday by the local design review committee during the City Planning Commission meeting.

According to a Sherwin Williams spokesperson, the LeBron banner will come down the week of June 20. The new one will be installed the week of June 27.
