Starting July 31st 2016 the Rapid Transit Authority will be upgrading Track 8 at Tower City Center Station. It will be the station's first renovation since 1990 and will last until Thanksgiving.

The project will mostly affect the riders on the Westbound Red Line towards Cleveland-Hopkins Airport and the Waterfront Line.

Commuters who usually use Track 8 will use Track 7, accessible through the Public Square level of Tower City in an entrance between Victoria's Secret and Darrio Fashion Group.

The RTA guidelines also include:

  • Commuters who are westbound on the Red Line and want to continue through Tower City to points west will not need to exit the train.

  • Commuters who board the Red Line west of Tower City and are headed east will not be affected. Their trains will still enter Tower City as they do now, and they will be dropped off at the same platform.
