CLEVELAND - Workers for Republic Services in Cleveland and Elyria will be back on the job Monday, as the sympathy strike for Youngstown is over.
Communities like Cleveland, Elyria, Strongsville, Vermilion and Brunswick have been affected by the lack of trash pickup thanks to the sympathy strike for workers at the Youngstown business.
On Sunday, a local representative said the strike was over and some regular and replacement workers are currently out collecting trash.
Republic Services is working on a schedule now so all cities will be caught up on trash/recycling pickup by the end of next week.
You can contact Republic Services to find out your waste removal schedule.
The sympathy strike began earlier this month. The work stoppage left 6,000 homes without trash service.
