Cleveland's resurrected Pride Parade and Festival kicks off Saturday afternoon.

The event, organized for the past 27 years by non-profit organization Cleveland Pride, was canceled less than 3 weeks before the August 13 event.

But the city's LGBT community rallied together and in just 13 days, replaced the canceled event with their own Pride march and festival called Pride in the CLE.

Ryan Zymler, Community Relations Coordinator for the LGBT Center of Greater Cleveland, said they met with the city of Cleveland and Cleveland Police to ensure the event will be safe for everyone.

"The city was behind us, the community was behind us, everyone was stepping up in ways that made that timeline seem like we had much more time than we actually did," Zymler said.

Pride in the CLE kicks off at 12 p.m. with a march, then continues in Public Square with DJs, dancers and performances.

The schedule is listed below. You can see a map of the route above.
