Portrait of retired Cleveland-area Congressman Louis Stokes unveiled

CLEVELAND - A portrait of retired Cleveland-area Congressman Louis Stokes has been unveiled at the Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Center which bears his name at University Circle.

In a late morning ceremony Friday at the center, Stokes, a U.S. Army veteran, was joined by fellow armed forces vets as well as current congressional representatives Marcia Fudge and Sherrod Brown.

The original, life-sized portrait by Cleveland portrait artist, Rob Hartshorn, will hang permanently in the main atrium at the veterans center. Several smaller copies will also by displayed around the complex.
