Police: Man tries to kidnap 14-year-old girl walking home from John Adams High School in Cleveland

CLEVELAND - Cleveland police are investigating after they say a man attempted to abduct a 14-year-old girl walking home from school.

The victim reported to officers that the incident happened when she was on our her way home from John Adams High School going west on Corlett Avenue toward East 114th Street on Wednesday at approximately 3:20 p.m.

She noticed a suspect seated in a parked vehicle and he exited when she walked past him, police said. After passing the suspect, the victim said he grabbed her by the back of her coat and shirt.

The girl dropped her belongings and pulled away from the suspect, allowing her to run home, according to police.

The suspect is described as: a white male, possibly 50 years old, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds with short gray hair and a gray mustache. Officers said he was wearing a black Northface jacket with gray elbow patches, blue jeans with holes and black work boots.

His vehicle is described as an older blue pickup truck with a black stripe going from front to back in the middle area of the truck.
