Police: Car strikes Cleveland RTA bus on East 22nd Street and Cedar Avenue sending 7 to hospital

CLEVELAND - Seven people were injured when an RTA bus heading eastbound on Cedar Avenue was struck by a car, Cleveland police said.

The crash happened Tuesday afternoon when bus No. 8 was hit in its right rear by a car driving northbound on East 22nd Street, according to authorities.

Those injured include passengers on the bus and those in the car.

Officials said the bus driver, who was among those hurt, will be drug tested, but it's believed the car was at fault.

Another bus was sent out to replace the damaged bus so re-routes were not necessary.
