CLEVELAND - Cleveland police helped rescue a man trapped in a burning car early Thursday morning.
Around 1:45 a.m., Cleveland police responded to a call to check on a suspicious vehicle along the 1800 block of Haldane Road. They noticed a vehicle atop the hill at the southeast end of the street. Moments later, officers found that car on fire in a wooded area near the intersection of Endora Road and Hillsboro Road.
Police tell NewsChannel5 the car crashed into a tree before bursting into flames. Officers, who were at the scene before firefighters and paramedics, freed the man trapped inside the burning car.
Paramedics rushed the unresponsive man to MetroHealth Medical Center.
Cleveland firefighters worked to extinguish the car fire.
