Man steals $17,000 at gunpoint from store in Cleveland, police say

Suspect forced employee into office

CLEVELAND - Police need help identifying a man who robbed a store on Cleveland's west side of $17,000 at gunpoint.

A man armed with a handgun went into Roses, which is a department store on West 65th Street, at about 8:15 p.m. on Monday.

Cleveland police said the man asked an employee for help in another part of the store, then took out the gun and forced the woman to the manager's office. He got away with $17,000, which was stuffed in a white, plastic garbage bag.

The man is wanted for kidnapping and aggravated robbery.
