A Waste Management driver found a man alive in the back of his garbage truck after hearing a banging sound coming from inside.
According to Cleveland police, the driver called 911 while he was at the Speedway gas station at 2020 Broadview Road.
Firefighters responded and opened the truck.
The 29-year-old victim rolled out along with some trash.
He told police he had ended up sleeping in a dumpster after a day and night of heavy drinking.
He was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment of a fractured ankle.
