CLEVELAND - A truck carrying steel casings flipped onto its side on the ramp from Interstate 490 eastbound to Interstate 77 northbound Friday evening.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol told NewsChannel5 the driver failed to secure the load, which shifted as the truck took the curving two-lane wide ramp. Speed is not considered to be a factor in the incident.
The cab of the truck and its trailer slid onto the adjoining ramp from I-490 westbound to I-77 north, which has been closed for three years as part of the Innerbelt project.
Crews worked into the evening unloading the shipment of casings into other trucks.
The driver of the Cleveland-area trucking company was uninjured. No other vehicles were involved.
Both lanes of the I-490 eastbound ramp to I-77 northbound are open.
