CLEVELAND - Human trafficking is big business and Ohio is a major pipeline for the billion dollar industry.
In an effort to shine light on this often hidden problem, the Regional Transit Authority is holding a free, educational event Tuesday from 3-6 p.m. at the Louis Stokes Station at Windermere in East Cleveland.
Transit police have already been trained in spotting the signs of human trafficking. RTA is also training all of its more than 2,000 employees.
On Tuesday, residents will get the same lesson plus, learn how to help victims once you recognize the indicators.
Law enforcement, social service and community agencies will attend.
The event is part of an initiative that RTA kicked off earlier this year.
