Runners and spectators definitely noticed the increased security presence during the 36th annual Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon on Sunday, but said they felt safe at the event.
CLEVELAND - A man and woman from Kenya are the winners of the 2013 Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon.
Philemon Terer, 27, finished first in the men's full marathon with a time of 2:17:37. He also will take home $6,000 -- $3,000 for coming in first place and another $3,000 for finishing under 2:20.
For the women, Kenya's Sarah Kiptoo was the winner. She finished with a time of 2:33:42 and also will take a $6,000 cash prize home.
According to Cleveland Marathon officials, it's the first marathon victory for Kiptoo and Terer.
