Cuyahoga County Judge Carolyn Friedland will announce at 10 a.m. Friday whether she will lift a temporary restraining order blocking the City of Cleveland from moving police training to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Training Academy, according Friedland's staff attorney.
Friedlland issued the restraining order last week after the Cleveland Police Patrolmen's Association filed a motion to stop training from moving to Columbus.
50 recruits were scheduled to start training Wednesday.
After a United States Department of Justice investigation found Cleveland police officers are poorly trained, city leaders decided to train the next class of cadets at the patrol's academy.

If Friedland upholds the order, Mayor Frank Jackson said it will take about a month to set up training at the city's police academy.
If the judge overturns the restraining order, the city hopes to begin police training in Columbus next week.
