INDEPENDENCE, Ohio - Attention all aficionados of Northeast Ohio's favorite grilled cheese restaurant: Melt Bar & Grilled's third location in Independence opens Friday.
The new restaurant, on Rockside Road in Liberty Commons, will open on Friday Oct. 7 at 11 a.m.
"There is so much excitement for the third location, both within the Melt family and among our customers and friends," Melt owner Matt Fish said, in a statement on their website. "Our Facebook page-with nearly 42,000 fans-is abuzz about the opening at Independence, and people can't wait. It's going to be an awesome time for Melt."
With two successful locations on the east and west ends of town, the new spot will seat 120 customers inside, with room for 30 more outside on the patio. The building was actually a car dealership that was remodeled into the new Liberty Commons plaza.
While guests can expect the usual menu items like the pierogi-packed Parmageddon and the lasagna-loving Godfather, the new location will have its own character, according to Fish.
Melt even held a job fair several weeks ago to recruit employees for the new location. The new restaurant will have a staff of 60.
Over the past few months, Melt has been recognized by national organizations including PETA, who praised Melt's "Kindergarten" grilled cheese sandwich as a top vegan choice, "ESPN The Magazine," which named Melt one of the top 10 best sports bars in the country, and "Field and Stream" Magazine, which featured Melt's Lake Erie Monster walleye sandwich in a full-page spread.
The new Melt site is a central location for all three Melt restaurants. (Eastside location: 13436 Cedar Road in Cleveland Heights, Westside location: 14718 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood).
