GARFILED HEIGHTS, Ohio - All lanes along Interstate 480 have re-opened after a fatal two-car crash late Thursday night in Garfield Heights.
The west bound lanes of the highway closed for about four hours late Thursday night and into early Friday morning, and re-opened just before 1:30 a.m.
According to Garfield Heights police, two vehicles were traveling east on I-480 at a high rate of speed. One of vehicles, a Dodge Neon, lost control and traveled across the grassy median and hit a vehicle in the west bound lanes.
The passenger in the Neon, 29-year-old Jonathan Timko, of Cleveland, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Neon and driver of the west bound vehicle were taken to Marymount Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
