Hillary Clinton stops in CLE on March 12

Hillary Clinton is scheduled to make a stop in the city on Saturday, March 12.

A spokesperson said the democratic presidential candidate will be speaking at Olivet Institutional Baptist Church, located at 8712 Quincy Ave., as the Community Coalition Concerned for Black Life convenes a second forum in its Presidential Candidates Town Hall Series. 

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders spoke at the forum on March 5, the church said.

The church said the purpose of the town hall meeting is to discuss issues affecting the African-American community and how candidates would address them as President of the United States. 

Doors are expected to open at 2 p.m. with ticket access. The event will begin at 4 p.m.

Others expected to be at the event include Olivet Institutional Baptist Church Pastor Rev. Dr. Jawanza Karriem Colvin, Case Western Reserve University Social Justice Institute Executive Director and Associate Professor Dr. Rhonda Y. Williams, Co-Covener of The Collaborative for a Safe, Fair & Just Cleveland Edward Little, Council on American-Islamic Relations-Ohio, Cleveland Chapter Executive Director Julia Shearson, and NAACP Cleveland Chapter President Michael Nelson, Sr.

Clinton will address a range of topics that may include law enforcement reform, urban economic development, educational reform, mass incarceration, gun safety, voting rights, child poverty, the housing crisis, home foreclosure, unemployment, and violence in America.
