CLEVELAND - Friday morning offers the public the opportunity to join with the Greater Cleveland Peace Officers Memorial Society [NLEOMF] for its annual parade and services to honor and remember those who have fallen.
The parade steps off at 10:30 a.m. from the intersection of East 12th and Lakeside Avenue, and continues down Lakeside to Huntington Park at West 3rd Street. The park is the site of the "Police Memorial Square" and will be home to a memorial service that begins at 11:30 a.m.
The public is encouraged to attend and express support for the families of those who gave their lives in the line of duty.
Nationally, 163 law enforcement officers were killed in 2011.
