Gov. Kasich and Mayor Jackson to highlight new funding for Cleveland's Lakefront West project

CLEVELAND - Cleveland officials are working on a plan to make the lakefront more accessible to residents who live west of downtown Cleveland.

Ohio's $1.6 billion highway budget deficit initially delayed the project, but ODOT reforms and federal funds have generated the resources to accelerate it.

Mayor Frank Jackson, along with Ohio Governor John Kasich and ODOT Director Jerry Wray, will discuss new developments with the project at news conference Thursday.

The event is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. at the Battery Park Warehouse
