Friday forum planned to discuss Cleveland police shooting, chase

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio - The controversial Cleveland police chase and shooting will once again take the spotlight. A community forum is behind held Friday night in East Cleveland.

This comes two weeks after Cleveland police fired 137 shots and killed two people after a chase.

The forum is at Shaw High School in East Cleveland at 6 p.m. It's sponsored by the NAACP and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.

The NAACP is asking for a special prosecutor to oversee this case. The Ohio attorney general would have to appoint that special prosecutor. But the attorney general's office said they can't do that until they are directed to do so by the county prosecutor.

Right now, a team of detectives led by the State Bureau of Criminal Investigations is investigating what happened.
