CLEVELAND - The FBI said it has carried out a number of drug raids in Cleveland Tuesday morning -- the largest bust in this region's history.
Police were armed with 72 federal indictments and 14 state indictments. It was all a part of an 86-count indictment that has been unsealed.
The details were announced at a 1 p.m. news conference.
The U.S. Attorney General's Office said it indicted a large-scale cocaine trafficking organization that brought drugs in from out of state and sold them in Cleveland. NewsChannel5 is told the round-up focused on the North and South Collinwood neighborhoods.
As a part of the bust, 70 people are behind bars and agents are still looking for 16. Some arrests were made in Kentucky and Georgia.
"Biggest indictment of the Northern District," said FBI Special Agent In Charge Stephen Anthony.
In all, 350 law enforcement officials were involved.
