Temple English, Alicia Turner, Areka Bailey, Brian Bartlett Brooks, Anthony Wilburn, Ruben Horton Barkley Jr., Vince Jones and Willie Boyce are listed on the indictment.

According to the indictment, the defendants stole outgoing hospital checks, distributed them to people outside of the state of Ohio, who then created bank accounts in the names of the intended recipients of the checks in order to steal the money.

For example, court documents show a stolen MetroHealth Medical Center check was made out to Janitorial Services, Inc. on Nov. 14, 2014 for $24,400. Another stolen check was made out to JP Recovery Services on Jan. 26, 2015 for $72,329.97.

The incidents occurred between October 2014 and February 2015, according to records.

All eight defendants are charged with engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, conspiracy and aggravated theft. They face other charges individually.

Arraignments are scheduled for all defendants on April 11.
