It’s where 3-year-old Major Howard was killed in a drive-by shooting Tuesday night.

"It’s nerve-wracking,” said neighbor, Rajih Abdul Basit. “You fear for your kids. You fear for yourself. There’s a miseducation of the black man, and a lack of responsibility."

Basit said he heard multiple shots Tuesday evening, so did Cleve Johnson.

"I said, 'Come on mom, move!' That's after I saw the shot come through the door,” said Johnson.

More than 20 years ago, Johnson was the victim of a drive-by shooting.

"I don't fear for my life,” said Johnson. “The Lord calls me, I’ve got to answer. I took a shot in the leg. I should be able to file for combat pay in guerilla warfare just living in the city."

While the shots missed Johnson and his mother, they did strike Major.

Both Johnson and Basit said they’ve grown exhausted with the violence and funerals that follow.

"I'm getting tired of hearing about them. I'm getting tired of seeing it on the news," said Basit. "Now you have black people who say they appreciate the fact that their son is locked up and not dead."
