Orange barrels surround Quicken Loans Arena, just a day before the Cavs are due back home for Game 3 in the NBA Finals.
Streets are torn up, sidewalks are covered in caution tape and fans are frustrated.
It's all in an effort to spruce up the Q before the Republican National Convention comes to Cleveland in just 41 days.
"I understand what they're doing, but the timing is not good," said Jeffrey Burson, who runs Huron Point Tavern.
Burson admits Huron Rd. needed the work, but, "it could have been done a month ago."
In response to questions about the questionable timing, a city spokesman said, "It was a discussion between team ownership, Mayor’s Office of Capital Projects and CDP Traffic who decided collectively that the best course of action was to complete the work as quickly as possible starting last week. The work is projected to be done by the end of June."
Other resurfacing work being done downtown is on East 4th from Huron to Prospect Ave. and Bolivar Rd. from East 7th to East 9th.
