Clevelanders celebrate Dallas Mavericks win over the Miami Heat and Lebron's loss

Reaction to Lebron and the Mavs

CLEVELAND - The Dallas Mavericks beat the Miami Heat 105-95 to win the NBA Finals, and that win has left Cleveland Cavaliers fans with a few words for former hometown hero, Lebron James.

"The guy could have had a legacy here. He could have had a statue right on the side of Quicken Loans. I guess he just didn't want to be the leader, he didn't want to be the man," one Clevelander said.

Another said, "I think he had it coming. He should have stayed in Cleveland and see how things worked out. You can't just jump from team to team. You gotta relax a little and see how things play out."

And another Clevelander said, "He left in a way that showed his true character."

In a postgame media conference, Lebron answered several questions about his former fans and nay-sayers.

"I pretty much don't listen to what everybody has to say about me and my game or what I've done in my career. I don't get involved in that, " James said.

But in the end, whether he listens to it or not, the Miami Heat lost the NBA Finals and many Clevelanders are on cloud nine because of the loss.

After the game, Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert tweeted, "Congrats to Mark C. & entire Mavs Organization. Mavs NEVER stopped & now entire franchise gets rings. Old Lesson for all: There are NO SHORTCUTS. NONE."
