Cleveland woman under arrest for stabbing her husband after lengthy domestic dispute early Saturday

CLEVELAND - A 26-year-old Cleveland woman has been arrested in connection with the stabbing her 27-year-old husband after a lengthy domestic dispute early Saturday morning.

Cleveland Police said the incident happened around 2:30 am Saturday when officers responded to a home in  the 2000 block of West 89th Street for a report of domestic violence.

When officers arrived on scene they saw a vehicle drive down and then back into the driveway of the home,  striking a female and pinning her between the house and the car.

Officers ordered the driver out of the vehicle and observed 27-year-old Nicholas Taylor covered in blood. Officers then handcuffed Taylor for officer safety and moved the vehicle, freeing his wife.

After investigating, police learned that the couple, who are married, were returning home from the bar when a verbal argument began. Taylor told police that his wife began slapping and punching him and then started smashing things inside of the vehicle, including the windshield. When the couple got home, Taylor's wife locked him out of the house.

After a while she finally let Taylor back inside of the house, but Taylor told police his wife began slapping and punching him again. He tried to leave in the vehicle and she followed, stabbing him several times in his arm and leg.  Taylor tried to flee in the vehicle until he saw police arrive, reversed the vehicle and accidentally struck his wife.

Taylor's wife refused medical treatment and was placed under arrest for felonious assault and domestic violence.

Taylor was treated and released at MetroHealth Medical Center.

Charges have not been filed at this time and police said the matter will be further investigated.
