Cleveland State dorm residents still out of storm-damaged rooms

CLEVELAND - Dozens of Cleveland State University students forced to move from their water-damaged residence hall after superstorm Sandy likely will be displaced until the new year.

The Plain Dealer reports that wind from the Oct. 29 storm was so strong that it drove rain through the frames of the windows and into the rooms of the 22-story Fenn Tower downtown.

The water cascaded down the interior walls of the north-facing rooms and affected wiring, setting off fire alarms.

More than 80 residents of the tower were displaced. Some are staying in a hotel, while others moved home or were relocated to other residence halls.

More than 300 other residents were not affected.
