CLEVELAND - Cleveland police said one of their officers was in the right place at the right time, taking down two robbery suspects at the intersection of East 90th Street and Harris Avenue.
The department said the officer was driving by the intersection and noticed a semi truck driver being held-up by two men just after noon on Monday.
Officer Michael Moctezuma chased the pair about a quarter mile down the street, before firing one shot a suspect and wrestling the other to the ground.
A 21-year-old suspect was arrested, while the 19-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder, Cleveland Police Sgt. Sammy Morris said. He remains at MetroHealth Medical Center.
Neither man has been charged.
Officer Moctezuma involved was not injured during the encounter. He is on paid administrative leave, per department procedure.
