CLEVELAND - The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has been called to the scene of a fatal double shooting in Old Brooklyn.
Cleveland police responded to 3316 Montclair Avenue about 5 p.m. Tuesday for reports of a woman shot.
Officers discovered a 22-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the head and a 29-year-old man with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head on the first floor of the multi-family home.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where she is in critical condition.
The Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit was notified and is investigating.
According to a press release, a preliminary investigation reveals the man and woman were going through a divorce. The couple had lived in Parma, and the woman recently moved into the home after living with neighbors on Montclair Avenue. The man showed up to the woman's home and an altercation took place. During the altercation, the man shot the woman and later shot himself. A handgun was found at the scene.
Next of kin have not been notified.
