CLEVELAND - Cleveland Police are searching for a suspect after a man was fatally shot in the head early Saturday.
Around 1:57 a.m. police responded to 9405 Mt. Auburn Avenue. When officers arrived on scene they located the victim, 42-year-old Barnard Patterson, with a gunshot wound to the head. Patterson was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he later expired.
The preliminary investigation reveals that the suspect, an unknown male, parked a blue Dodge Caravan in the Patterson's driveway. Patterson confronted the suspect and an argument ensued. As they argued the suspect pulled out of the driveway, drove a short distance and stopped the vehicle. After stopping the vehicle the suspect produced a handgun and shot Patterson.
Fourth District officers searched the area but did not find the suspect or his car.
