Cleveland needs your votes to beat El Paso as host city of 2012 Social Media Tourism Symposium

CLEVELAND - 8 p.m. UPDATE: Cleveland lost to El Paso by less than 300 votes.

Cleveland has already beaten out Kansas City and Knoxville to move onto the Final 4 as the potential host site for the 2012 Social Media Tourism Symposium. Your votes are needed once again to help #CLE get past El Paso, Texas.

El Paso has garnered over 8,000 votes in their matchup against Buffalo. The most Cleveland has gotten so far has been 3,000.

What is #SoMeT12? It's a conference that will be held Nov. 7-9 at a location determined by you. We're hoping it'll be Cleveland. What makes the conference unique is that it's all based on the involvement of attendees throughout the entire process. You have a voice in everything from the location to the session topics and presenters.

Cleveland had been trailing El Paso in votes until 2:30 p.m. Help us show El Paso that, while they may be bigger, Cleveland is better and most worthy of hosting the conference. Vote for #CLE by following this link:

Only a few hours are left to vote and you can only do so once so help spread the word!

The symposium will consist of a combination of destination marketing organizations, hotels, resorts, attractions and any other tourism related entities sharing ideas and learning more about how social media is effecting promotion within the travel industry.

The inaugural symposium, which hosted 110 attendees, was held in 2010 in Loudoun County, Virginia. The second conference hosted 183 in Tunica, Mississippi.
