CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is celebrating Earth Day with a "Party for the Planet" on Sunday.
The Zoo is geared up to offer fun, engaging activities for the entire family from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and all guests will receive $2 off the regular admission rate.
Guests can learn about the Zoo's sustainability initiatives, see animal enrichment demonstrations, meet the keepers, sample tasty treats during a cooking demo and take in a special performance of Professor Wylde's Live Animal Show.
Younger guests can bust a move with Radio Disney from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., make a craft to take home and get their picture taken with one of the Zoo's costumed characters.
Kids can even try out a "pedal power" station that charges a cell phone or blows a bubble!
The Zoo will be collecting aluminum cans, cell phones and child car seats for recycling during the event.
Guests are also encouraged to bring in a white recyclable plastic bag to exchange for a reusable bag donated by Whole Foods Market (while supplies last). The zoo plans to recycle the plastic bags to put the finishing touches on a special polar bear sculpture being created in Northern Trek.
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is located at 3900 Wildlife Way, off West 25th Street.
