Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson declared June 14 Lake Erie Monsters Day after the team's Calder Cup win over the weekend.
The Monsters defeated the Hershey Bears Saturday night to win the Calder Cup in Game 4 of the finals.
Cleveland's Lake Erie Monsters had three wins to the Bears' zero in the American Hockey League's best-of-seven finals before Saturday’s game. Lake Erie went on to sweep the series.
The victory spelled Cleveland's first Calder Cup Championship in 52 years and Lake Erie's first AHL title in team history.
