Cleveland homes evacuated following gas leak at Louis Stokes VA Medical Center

CLEVELAND - Homes on Cleveland's east side were evacuated due to a gas leak at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center.

A gas line was struck at around 11 a.m. Tuesday at the facility, at 10701 East Blvd. Dominion Gas said that crews were on scene at around noon and that a contractor hit a 6-inch plastic gas mainline.

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History lost gas service but the leak had been stopped by 12:30 p.m.
