Two houses went up in flames on Cleveland's west side early Tuesday.
Just after 2:30 a.m. Cleveland firefighters were called to the 3300 block of Fulton Avenue for a house fire. When crews arrived they found flames shooting 70 feet into the air and two homes on fire.
One of the homes had been the site of a fire on Nov. 19 of last year. At the time of that fire the home had been vacant.
Tuesday morning's fire did enough damage to that home that it collapsed into the basement, leaving only a wall held up by a small tree. The chimney also stayed standing.
The house to the south was also vacant and suffered extensive damage.
Cleveland firefighters had most of the flames under control in about 30 minutes but remained on scene soaking the smoldering debris.
Fulton Avenue was closed between Sackett Avenue and Carlyle Avenue.
Just an hour earlier, firefighters were across the street at Fulton Beverage where a clothing donation box was on fire.
The fire is being investigated as an arson. Officials said they were looking for anyone who might have seen something around the time of the fires.
Fulton Beverage does have cameras on their building.
