Cleveland Connection is radio show that promotes best of Cleveland

Area musicians featured each week

CLEVELAND - Public affairs radio shows are traditionally not big in the ratings.

But WQAL radio host Katherine Boyd is on a mission to make her public affairs show called " Cleveland Connection " a winner.

"Public affairs can be super exciting if you seek out the right people who are doing exciting things for Cleveland," Boyd said.

Cleveland Connection is a one-hour show broken up into four segments. The topics and her guests are varied. One thing Boyd makes sure to include in each and every broadcast is a musical guest.

"Whether it be an Irish singer for the St. Patrick's Day parade or a jazz singer, or if it's just a local indie band that's doing fabulous music here in Cleveland, we want to be able to promote them," Boyd said.

With all of the talent in and around the rock 'n' roll capitol, Boyd said she feels it is important to give musicians more exposure.

Even the Cleveland Connection theme song "Bee Eater" was composed by two local musicians, Michael DiLiberto and Eric Mzik.

If you are a local musician or  simply have something to share with your fellow Clevelander's, Boyd is your connection.

Cleveland Connection   airs every Sunday from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. on Cleveland's WQAL, WNCX and 92.3 The Fan. It also airs Sundays on WDOK from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
