CLEVELAND - Cleveland City Councilman Matt Zone is offering a reward for help identifying the individuals who vandalized the new West 76th Street pedestrian-bike tunnel.
Zone posted a photo of the vandalism on his Facebook page Thursday morning requesting any information that would will help identify the individuals behind the graffiti.
"Believe me, we will find them and prosecute to the fullest," Zone wrote on his page. "Felony charges await the idiot who did this."
Thursday evening, volunteers repainted the mural, using the original design palette and paint supplied by the Detroit-Shoreway Community Development Corporation to exactly match the original colors.
It took two and a half hours to fix the artwork which depicts an iceberg.
It's been almost two months that it's been graffiti-free but in less than 12 hours the graffiti's gone," the councilman said.
The tunnel was struck by vandals shortly before its July 2 opening.
