The Cleveland City Council voted to put a 12-month moratorium on the cultivation, processing and sale of medical marijuana within city limits at Monday's meeting.

The newly adopted Ohio state law legalized medical marijuana but also gave cities the authority to regulate and limit the process.

The City Council said they need time to determine limits and regulations. The 12-month period begins from Monday's meeting.
