Cleveland air show includes 2 new fighter craft, Blue Angels

This year's Cleveland air show will feature appearances by the two newest fighter aircraft in America's arsenal and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.

The two fighter aircraft will be part of a "Heritage Flight" with a World War II-era P-51 Mustang this weekend. The show begins Saturday and runs through Monday at Burke Lakefront Airport.

Visitors also can view a Batmobile and BatCopter display, check out the latest drones and learn about the Tuskegee Airmen. Other appearances include the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute team, wing walkers and solo aerobatics.

Parking restrictions will be in effect in Cleveland during the air show over the weekend. The following parking bans will be enacted Friday, Sept. 2 at 8 a.m. and will remain in place until Monday, Sept. 5 at 7 a.m.:

  • Marginal Road from East 9th Street to East 55th Street
  • Marginal Road from East 9th Street to East 55th Street
  • East 38th Street from Hamilton Avenue to S. Marginal Road
  • East 40th Street from Hamilton Avenue to S. Marginal Road
  • East 49th Street from Hamilton Avenue to S. Marginal Road
  • Marquette Street from Hamilton Avenue to S. Marginal Road
