Body found in field on Cleveland's east side identified as 45-year-old Christine Malone

CLEVELAND - The woman found dead in a field Thursday afternoon on Cleveland's east side has been identified.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office said the body was matched to 45-year-old Christine Marie Malone.

A group of kids were walking on Bessemer Avenue near East 93rd Street when they spotted the body in the field.

According to Cleveland police, the woman appeared to have suffered blunt-force trauma to the head. No official cause of death has been released by the ME's office, though.

Neighbors told NewsChannel5 that Malone was a very nice person.

Malone's daughter posted on Facebook that her mother had been missing for a week as of Tuesday. Police said a missing person's report was filed by Malone's sister on March 23.

The crime scene is about a mile from where 20-year-old Jazmine Trotter was found dead on Sunday. A family member discovered her body under the porch of a vacant house on East 93rd Street.
